Inspiration
The inspiration for our project comes from a deeply personal place: three out of four members of our team are international students. We’ve all experienced firsthand what it feels like to relocate to a completely new place. From navigating foreign banking systems to figuring out a budget in a new currency, we know the financial challenges that come with a fresh start. This shared experience drove us to create a tool that simplifies the business of moving, so others can focus on the excitement of their new beginning instead of the financial stress.
What it does
We developed a three-part system to simplify the financial aspects of a move: Cash Flow Page: Allows us to check our spending and income for one specific date using a line graph Budgeting Page: The budgeting page enables users to view their budget for each category, allowing them to manage their finances more wisely Goals Page: This section empowers users to set and monitor financial objectives, such as saving for a security deposit or a specific purchase. A progress bar updates in real-time as users add income and expenses, providing a clear visual representation of their progress toward their goals.
How we built it
Lots of googling, prompting, and praying We provided ideas and sketchs for AI to build the layout using HTML and CSS. Then we fixed the layout and add functionality using JS and React framework. For the graphs we installed and integrated chart.js and recharts.
Challenges we ran into
We did not know how to code (web development). So it was hard to code. It was like the blind leading the blind.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It runs!! Great team coordination. We know how to use Git (ish).
What we learned
We learned how to use Git/Github, how to download and use Vite framework, how to use and understand HTML,CSS,JSX.
What's next for "We tried"
Learn what we're missing, perfect this project and add more features. Team up for future hackathons with our newly learned knowledge.
