Inspiration

One of my resolutions for New Year 2023 is to be mindful about money and keep a note of the expenses/ income and I wanted to use this hackathon as an opportunity to create an application that enables this.

What it does

Finance Deck is a speech controlled expense tracker application made using React , CSS, ContextAPI , SpeechlyAPI and local storage .

How it was built

I used React , contextAPI and trained basic sentences using speechlyAPI in the application

Challenges I ran into

During the development process, I spent a significant amount of time evaluating whether Redux or ContextAPI would be the best choice for sharing data between components. I also encountered challenges in configuring charts and implementing reload animations in React, but I persevered and was ultimately able to overcome these obstacles and successfully integrate these elements into the application.

Accomplishments that I am proud of

I am pleased to have gained a greater level of familiarity and proficiency with both APIs and React. Prior to this project, I had primarily worked with JavaScript, Java and Spring, so I am proud of the progress I have made in expanding my skillset to include these technologies.

What's next for Finance Deck

I want to add more features like Google Calender and a notification feature to the application , I plan to use it for my personal finance tracking as well! So that is a big win for me!
