Inspiration

The idea of making financial advice more accessible for people

What it does

FinanceBroBot offers budget tracking with spending category analysis, a library of financial advice articles and uses a very popular platform. It has features like comprehendible help commands, monthly expenses graphs and overspending alerts.

How we built it

We used Python, an SQLite database and the discord.py API to create our bot. Libraries like Plotly and sqlite3 were used in the project.

Challenges we ran into

Creating an intuitive set of commands required a lot of thought and planning. Making the system stateless posed a unique challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Familiarising with a new API and using it effectively in 24-hours.

What we learned

What's next for Finance advisor Discord bot

Integrating more budget analysis tools and adding a Telegram Bot for the bot (the system was designed to integrate two platforms from the start to improve the accessibility)
