Inspiration

I watched a documentary on earthquakes and was interested in how data analysis could be conducted on data on past earthquakes to learn more about earthquakes.

What it does

Displays information on earthquakes in the month of March 2011 as well as November 2022.

How we built it

I used python libraries such as pandas and numpy in a Jupyter Notebook to examine and visualize the data.

Challenges we ran into

It was difficult to find comprehensive datasets that contained information on every earthquake in a certain period.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I was able to find good datasets offered by the U.S. Geological Survey to use for the purpose of the project.

What we learned

I learned how to use some commands in pandas and working with dataframes in a Jupyter Notebook.

What's next for Final Project

I would like to continue working on the project and use libraries such as scikitlearn to build models that could predict the occurrence of an earthquake in an area given information on other earthquakes in the area in the past.
