Inspiration

Access to education in financial literacy can be difficult for multilingual people and immigrants for whom English is not a first language. Imagining my grandparents who immigrated from India to Canada at age 50 and had to learn English from scratch, it can be difficult for them to maneuver through financial decisions without assistance from members of their community.

What it does

Fin Voice is a platform allowing users to use our microphone to record a question or video search. Using the Assembly AI text-to-speech API, we are able to take the text and turn it into a video search using the Youtube API and display short 2 minute educational videos to our user.

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap, and JQuery for the front end. We utilized the Assembly AI text-to-speech API to use the microphone to make searches on the Youtube API
