Inspiration
Personal financial decision-making struggles as students.
What it does
Serves as a knowledge gap bridge for students to learn more about personal finance and budgeting. To help high school and college students get started with managing money and serve as an ultimate 24/7 personal AI financial advisor to make purchasing, budgeting, and investing decisions to achieve personal goals.
How we built it
Used Figma, glitch, Visual Studio, and multiple other tools to get to the current stage. Front end: HTML, CSS, Javascript.
Challenges we ran into
Websites kept crashing and pages were not linking and not responding. Our team was also comprised of first time hackathon attendees, making it difficult to navigate at first.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Perseverance and resistance.
What we learned
Collaboration and teamwork as well as patience. We also got used to collaboration on GitHub and familiarized ourselves with Microsoft Azure products and front-end & back-end development, even though we didn't get to implement all the things we learned. Also: pizza is good; humans need sleep.
What's next for Fin-Lit
Automation and personal financial advising 24/7 on the fly for every decision you make about your money. AI integration was one of our goals, but given the time constraint and lack of experience we weren't able to pursue it fully.
