💡 Inspiration

We wanted to make an all-in-one kit for the community of marginalized genders.
Data driven resources or factual help is of the utmost importance.
Leveraging the use of Machine learning and Data Science, we wanted our platform to act as an aiding toolkit for the marginalized community.
Our holistic approach towards this cause led us to incorporate health, resources, stats and facts all in one.
There aren't a lot of resources for the community to look into, a lot of the under-representation affects the decisions, resources and understanding of the right things for themselves.
Hence pushing the limits of what we could do with Taipy, learning Machine Learning and Data Science from scratch, KitTogether is the ultimate fully functional holistic platform built with Taipy.

Taipy helped us achieve a lot of the functionality to our project. With its amazing library, we were able to achieve multiple features like:

A lot of the individuals don't know that BMI can actually as a metric to know whether you would be diabetic in the future
With Taipy GUI, we were able to get the input from the user, let them know their BMI with the easy-to-use Visual Elements provided by them. The data visualization element, that is the chart that shows the correlation between BMI and the likelihood of diabetes was also coded and plotted with Taipy
Importing the dataset and coding it to render the chart was extremely easy, with Taipy, we were able to finish it in just few lines of code.
Though we wanted the dataset to include a wide variety of marginalized genders, we were able to gather as much as we can.

With a lot of crimes happening against the community, we realized raising awareness is just as important as to study them thoroughly as to why they happen.
However, there was again a shortage of latest datasets specifically focusing on marginalized community
With Taipy we were able to plot the rate of the hate crimes that happen in various counties, again due to Taipy's intuitive and easy-to-understand documentation and code, plotting the bar chart wasn't a hassle.
With this, one can get a general idea of what goes on in which counties, the county with the highest rate of hate crimes and the one with the lowest too.

Everybody needs to be aware of the happenings around, the laws that have been passed and information
With Taipy we were able to render article cards that make providing information to the user much easier
Resources of any kind are always a must and need to be discussed and talked about widely.

Since our platform does have some heavy topics to look into, we also wanted our users to enjoy our platform with ease
This Anime Recommendation system was built with Taipy
Here we really had to learn the visualization and dealing with data, which we did find to be a struggle.
Thanks to Taipy, though we were completely new to all this, we were still able to get this system up and running.

It was extremely quick to build, with ready to use visual element components provided by Taipy.

Our platform really pushes us to think what all we can invent with Taipy
The visual elements provided by Taipy however made it really easy to collect inputs from the user and also render a lot of the article elements in a neat way on our platform
Along with the easy-to-understand documentation of Taipy, despite being intimidated by the MLDS domain, we were able to navigate through this experience very easily
Taipy also made it smooth for us to collect inputs and change the states of the graphs with its callback functions, which actually streamlined the process for us by tons!

Learning Machine Learning and Data Science from scratch was a pretty big challenge for us, not only that, we were pretty intimidated by the huge ocean of concepts of ML and DS
Utilizing Taipy's full potential also something we faced a lot of problems with, it wasn't easy to learn MLDS and Taipy at the same time and get started with implementation
The datasets we required were missing :( the under-representation really made us realize though it's a challenge much more prevalent, not a lot of people actively speak up about it
Not only were we facing issues with not finding the right datasets, but the ones we found were old and bulky, working with them made our progress pretty slow since our laptops kept crashing :/

We were able to deep dive and get our hands dirty using Machine Learning, Data Science and Data visualization!
Unlocked a new domain of projects to explore
New technology unlocked - Taipy, first hands-on use through this hackathon, really helped us explore python as a language and MLDS more with Taipy with its easy-to-use interface.
Understanding the importance of our platform, we didn't realize the lack of representation of marginalized genders until now, the moment we started to scavenge for datasets to work with, we realized a lot of them were old, and we couldn't find a lot that we needed.

Machine Learning and Data Science was definitely something we were completely new to.
We understood the workflow behind Machine Learning and definitely learned some really useful concepts.
Using Taipy was also a completely new thing for us, the tool is extremely powerful, but it definitely had a steep learning curve to it, learning it in a span of a day and trying to implement it into a fully functional project is something we are really proud of.

Though we complete noobs when it comes to ML and DS, we wish to expand our platform further with our vision.
