The Filtro Story

Imagine if you could search for tweets related to breaking news without getting random tweets about your weird neighbor Jane's cat just because she had the phrase "breaking news" in one of her tweets. Well that's what you'll get when you search on Twitter. That's where Filtro comes in.

Filtro aggregates tweets based on user search queries from top and relevant accounts on Twitter. When you search for any topic in Filtro, it returns the top tweets associated with that topic from the top accounts related to that topic. For example, when you search for "breaking news", you get tweets from the top news accounts like CNN, BBC, etc.

Filtro is powered by a Ruby backend and an angular.js powered frontend.
