Offensive Tweet Filter - This project is aimed at combating cyberbullying by converting offensive, sexist text into pleasant or funny sentences. Members of already marginalized communities, such as women and people of color are often the target of online bullying and hate speech. We were inspired by our own experiences and those of our friends and families to try and create something positive from this unpleasant at best, dangerous at worst phenomenon.

We utilize NLP sentiment analysis and ML to identify offensive text and replace specific words with humorous and contrasting language.

The time constraint was an obvious challenge, we worked up until the last hour. Additionally, working with python flask as a web framework was new to all of us and presented a new level of challenge. However, we were able to complete an exciting prototype and hope you enjoy!
