Inspiration
What it does
It takes inputs of genre, runtime and IMDB rating and should output a suggestion of a film and it can be re-generated for a different film.
How we built it
We built it through google cloud, flask, css, html and javascript which was fun for all of us as we didn't have much experience in any of these languages/cloud spaces. We spent a lot of time just trying to understand everything and building very basic code that works.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into a lot of de-bugging errors of trying to fit the database into the inputs from the website as well as running an output. The code working on different peoples laptops but not others.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning and trying something new as we are a group of beginners. We are proud that we tried.
What we learned
We learned a lot about databases and html, as well as using github to collaborate with data and that came with its own problems.
What's next for Film Reccomender
Using a generative AI to incorporate more recommendations and options.
