About the Project

Inspiration

Construction rarely goes exactly as planned. Teams constantly make small adjustments on site, but these decisions are often lost and never help the rest of the project. We wanted to explore how AI could capture these moments and turn them into useful project knowledge.

Our Idea

We propose Field Change Demand Reflex, a Physical AI system that uses smart glasses to detect field changes, estimate their impact on material usage, identify similar situations across the project, and help teams plan ahead by learning from previous field experiences.

Proposed Approach

Our solution would combine first-person video and audio from smart glasses with AI and project data to understand field changes, estimate material impact using engineering rules, and predict where similar changes are likely to occur again.

Challenges & Learnings

The biggest challenge was designing a solution that is both practical and meaningful. Through this project, we learned that capturing real-time field knowledge could help reduce repeated mistakes, improve planning, and make construction projects learn from every field decision.
