Inspiration

We were inspired by how simulator games can help individuals apply their knowledge in real time. Similarly, we wanted to present our users, young-women learning about how to take control of thier finances, various situations w=in which they would need to make path-altering decisions regarding their finances.

What it does

FidPath is a game in which the user will choose one character out three with varying ages, jobs, and financial situations that best aligns with them. The user will continue to the FidPath to answer various questions regarding budgeting, credit, and retirement plans. If they answer correctly, they will continue along the FidPath and reach the goal. Otherwise they will be redirected to external resources to help them learn and try again.

How we built it

We built the prototype for our game in Figma, an online, collaborative design tool.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into were designing the game play that is most conducive to retaining information. Another challenge we ran into was usability issues of making sure each button and clickable link lead to the correct page.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our ability to collaborate and create a prototype with many robust functionalities.

What we learned

We learned the main aspects of a prototype, how to use Figma, and the steps to developing an application/webpage.

What's next for FidPATH

The next thing for FidPath would be to convert our prototype to front end and back end. Additionally, to incorporate APIs and databases to include an AI aspect, which further personalize the characters to the user's financial sistuation.
