FIB COVID Tracker

Inspiration

The Barcelona School of Informatics already has a positioning system for the classroom, where each student/teacher can register the row and column where a student is placed as well as save the information. However, positioning and inserting the information into the system does not always work well due to misinterpretations of positioning and errors on data entry, amongst others.

What it does

This let's you create a map of QR codes for any class which you can print and place on each table. Students can just scan the QR code before sitting.

How I built it

I've used Next.js, pdf-lib, qrcode, FIB's Oauth API

Challenges I ran into

pdf-lib's API was a bit funky and oauth2 configuration

What I learned

Besides other things, I learned to create dynamic PDF's on the fly

What's next for FIB COVID Tracker

• A platform where students can submit their symptoms or PCR tests, so we can notify the other people that they have been in contact with

• A QR code for each student where they can show if they've been exposed to COVID
