Inspiration
We were inspired by our shared passion of data security and privacy in healthcare.
What it does
Allows users to upload medical records and ask medical questions related to their records or in regards to other medical questions they have.
How we built it
We used the .NET framework, WPF, and BioMistral to create a system patients can upload files and chat with their specific data privately.
Challenges we ran into
Getting a large model to run reliably on a device with low processing power and finding a model that can handle complex medical knowledge that performs well.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We got a novel RAG system functioning within the time constraints. We have a very large model with extensive capabilities running locally- our privacy protection is unparalleled due to the integration of these functionalities.
What we learned
We learned to not reinvent the wheel of finetuning fast diffusion models because an existing model met our specifications.
What's next for Fiat Medica
A future improvement we are considering is allowing providers to input custom data unique to their practices or integrate it with their website so that they can offer patients an experience unique to their specialization.
