Inspiration
We were inspired by all the public resources that are available on open data Barcelona, these sources helped us identify the problems and therefore find potential solutions to them to make Barcelona more sustainable, cleaner and healthier.
What it does
The general idea of our project is to centralise all the problems that are facing Barcelona and give people the opportunity to interact better with the community and make acts to improve the city. In other words, we built a social network representing the community of people that want to 'act' to save the planet, and before saving the planet we should start by saving our lovely city.
How I built it
We started by analysing the data that was found on open data Barcelona, that gave us a general idea on the aspects that need to be improved. We suggested, for now, some solutions to deal with certain problems, but in the future, we are counting on the users of the platform to suggest and find what the best for their city. We made a platform with basic data analytics using python technologies, and python Django for an agronomic platform.
Challenges I ran into
The main challenge we ran into was the unstructured data sets and lack of some important records that took us a huge time to process correctly.
