Inspiration

Just wanted to apply my skills I learned in high school such as SolidWorks to see if I could use similar models online as a reference in order to produce something of my own. Plus I always thought that making a car would be cool in SolidWorks as I have made other things such as the rings from Green Lantern.

What it does

What this does is it implements the technology and functionality of the EchoAR cloud in order for you to view a Ferrari Italia in front of you using your phone with the help of your phones augmented reality capabilities

How I built it

Using the easy EchoAR cloud I just created a 3d model exported it as an .obj and then submitted it into the cloud and the rest was handled by the easy to use software of Echo AR.

Challenges I ran into

The only challenge I ran into was not being able to upload the car with the textures and color pack of the real car as it is my first time using this kind of software and learning more about AR and VR.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I proud that I could use my SolidWorks once again as it was a skill I was jumping back into using for both school and personal use and I am proud that I was able to get into an area of computer science and development that is AR/VR that I one that I wanted to focus on later down the line. I am glad that I was also able to be introduce to the likes of programs like Unity and Blender. Really excited for what the future holds.

What I learned

I learned that there is just so much more in coding than just writing the code. What goes into the process, what we do as research in order to get the best process and their is also another world that uses coding for multiple purposes. I also learned that is good to continue to learn multiple languages as many different employers and programs use different languages for their products. Lastly I learned that the hackathon is a fun event I want to continue to do fun the future and get my friends involved so they can have fun as well.

What's next for Ferrari

Honestly I want to try and make the famous soccer pitch, the Camp Nou, in SolidWorks to see it in AR but as of now the future is open and ready to explore the vast opportunities that we can use AR and VR for.
