Inspiration
In the spirit of SheInnovates and customer experience, we wanted to create a website that uplifted women, non-binary, and non-male musicians and their work. We wanted to promote artists from underrepresented communities and tie in user experience to create a personalized, curated album list for each user.
What we built + tools used
Lo-fi Prototype: Paper Sketch Hi-fi Figma Interface Prototype Hi-fi Chatbot: AWS and OpenAI Assistant Playground Web application: CSS, HTML, and Javascript Database: Google Sheets
What it does
Our website prompts the user to input their current mood--"I'm feeling silly", "sad", etc., and our chatbot produces a chart of recommended albums from underrepresented, less widely known artists. Upon the chart's generation, the user has the option to share their chart on various social media platforms.
How we built it
We initially developed a prototype on figma, and later created our website using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Our chatbot was built with OpenAI's Playground environment, we also created a hi-fi of the chatbot in AWS, but ultimately chose OpenAI's Assistant Playground.
Challenges we ran into
For some of us, it was our first time working with and implementing a chatbot.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of our team collaboration and communication throughout this project. For some, this is their first hackathon!
What we learned
Our team learned the importance of the design process and collaborative design, as well as implementing new features in our website like the chatbot.
What's next for Femme Frequency
We hope to continue expanding our album database & developing our website, and hope that people can find some hidden gems that compliment their moods!
