Inspiration
I love combining capabilities, so I went for body erasing and hand tracking to make a goofy ghostly character.
What it does
It erases the users' bodies and then gives them a funny face with face insets, a furry hat and furry hands.
How we built it
I built I by exploring the ML eraser capabilities and recombining them with the hand-tracking feature. I used pre-existing assets and materials from the library.
Challenges we ran into
I'm new at Lens Studio, coming from years of Meta Spark, so the challenges were mostly in understanding the UI and translating the workflows in a way that my brain could correlate and understand, such as dealing with multiple cameras, layer and hierarchy order here.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud of effective Lenses usually, I find that a good AR effect is not necessarily the most complex but the most engaging and that uses features in imaginative and unexpected ways, and I feel that I've accomplished this with this project.
What we learned
I learned that I need to keep on study as this software is incredible and offers way more flexibility that I could ever dream of. I just have to hope over the hurdles I have with scripting and the language of the actual software.
What's next for FeiceOmly
FeiceOmly had over 255k plays in a short span of time, so I believe it will keep growing, and I'll sure use this project to continue adding more complexity to my work.
