Inspiration
Both of us have had experience with family members who, with limited understanding of the hospital and its technology, were inpatients in their local hospitals. We wanted to be able to create a safe virtual space where young inpatients can have a place to explore, understand, and be aware of their surroundings.
The game walks you through choosing a hospital room which looks most like yours, recognizing and understanding the equipment around you, and all alongside a virtual friend which you can help advise as you both work to feel better together.
We built a majority of our coding through Unity.
Challenges We Ran Into
Constant software crashes, extensive code which was a struggle to debug, and navigating parts of the Unity software which neither of us had previously.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Expanding the extent of our coding knowledge, communicating and dividing tasks efficiently, and overall working together on sprite design and making our game come to life.
What we learned
We learned how to communicate efficiently and code with a purpose.
What's next for Feeling Better
Hopefully more expansive components and a more interactive and engaging game!
