Inspiration

After waiting in line for multiple hours at spurhacks 2025 without any food, our team had to decide how to get dinner elsewhere. In doing so, we ran into the common issue of not being able to decide. Everyone wanted something different.

What it does

Our app composes everyone's opinions on tonight's feast into one, AI-powered decision. Backed by Retrievel-Augmented Generation (and the Google Places API), our app searches for nearby restaurants that can fulfil everyone's desires.

How we built it

The frontend was made with Windows Forms App and C# while the backend and API calls were handled in Python with the Requests Library

Challenges we ran into

Using C# as a front end was a mistake, it was a language that most of our developers were familiar with so we thought itd be okay but many troubles arose as a result of this decision. Additionally, figuring out how to structure the AI data was an important milestone in this project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We think that the general idea of this application is golden and we envision that large Food Delivery services such as Uber Eats or DoorDash will integrate something similar to this within the VERY near future.

What we learned

We learned how to collaborate, as well as the differences and strengths of multiple languages and why some languages are preferred for the front end while others have a role in the backend

What's next for Feel2Meal

We plan on adding more functionality ,such as a vocie-to-text, additional filters, Food app integration, as well as more layers of AI parsing to really perfect the feel for the meal.
