Overview

Feeding Fishes is a game aimed at children 7 years and below that aims to instil an appreciation for aquatic life and nature in general. It was built in HTML5 and via Google Gemini primarily, with earlier sessions assisted with Claude Opus 4.6 via AWS Bedrock and ChatGPT.

The aim of the game is to feed the fishes in the aquarium. However, you have to strike a balance: you cannot feed the fishes too much too quickly, otherwise they will be overfed and will die. Conversely, you cannot feed the fishes an insufficient amount, otherwise they will die of starvation. If you manage to strike the right balance, you proceed to the next level. There are 5 levels in total.

The game takes its inspiration from the popular farming game genre in the mobile market. These include Sunshine Island, Township and Big Farm Homestead .

Along the way, there is also an educational component in the game: children can learn about the different kinds of fish in the sea.
