Inspiration

Seeing that many kids have no education of the stock market, even less the courage to invest, we decided to make small bite-sized lessons that can help kids of any age learn stocks. We wanted to integrate learning into a fun app that involves a pet so that kids can stay motivated to learn!

What it does

After the main menu screen, the user is taken to a video lesson. After the video ends, there will be a set of questions that the user has to answer, each correct answer giving points. Once you accumulate enough points, you can buy treats to feed your dog.

How we built it

Used C# in a unity project for the overall game, videos were first recorded, the audio was cleaned up using an AI Denoise tool, and put into wevideo for Video-Audio syncing and exporting.

Challenges we ran into

For our final build version, some of our buttons started malfunctioning, the videos were looping while on the end screen, and our videos couldn't be played.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our game's accomplishments, including getting a quiz prototype and embedding videos, and a save system so that progress isn't lost.

What we learned

We learned a lot about quiz making in C#, video embedding, in addition to audio syncing and overall video editing.

What's next for FeedDaShibe: Shiba & Stocks

It is possible to make this into an actual online app for global access (after some touchups), we may add more curriculums and more lessons, and make the overall app more aesthetically pleasing.
