Inspiration
We noticed that many small food creators struggle to grow—not because they lack creativity, but because they lack resources. Creating content often requires buying new ingredients, testing recipes, and taking risks on ideas that may not perform. For early-stage creators, this becomes expensive. As a result, they either repeat the same content or stop posting consistently. This led us to a simple question: What if creators could turn what they already have into content that performs?
What it does
FeedChef helps small food creators generate content using the ingredients they already have. Users select their creator style and input the ingredients they have on hand. FeedChef then generates: 1) A dish idea tailored to their style 2) Visual direction for presentation 3) A ready-to-use caption and hashtags 4) Predicted performance based on trends
Instead of just suggesting recipes, FeedChef creates content-ready outputs designed for Instagram.
How we built it
We focused on building a fast and focused MVP within 24 hours.
- Designed a simple, intuitive UI that guides users step-by-step
- Used AI to generate structured outputs (dish, caption, hashtags, performance)
- Built prompt logic that combines: User ingredients / Creator style / Current content trends / Prioritized experience over complexity—ensuring the product feels immediate and usable
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was defining the product clearly. At first, it looked like a recipe generator—but we realized our real goal was to support content creation, not cooking. We also had to balance:
- Simplicity vs. meaningful output
- Speed vs. perceived intelligence
- Limited development resources within a short time frame
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully reframed a common problem—from “what should I cook?” to “what should I post?” We created a product that:
- Works with minimal input
- Feels personalized
- Produces immediately usable content
Most importantly, we built something that small creators can realistically use without extra cost.
What we learned
We learned that constraints can drive creativity—not limit it. By focusing on what users already have, we were able to design a solution that is both practical and empowering. We also learned that in early-stage products, clarity of problem and experience matters more than technical complexity.
What's next for FeedChef
We want to expand FeedChef into a full content creation assistant.
Next steps include:
- Connecting directly to Instagram for posting and analytics
- Personalizing outputs based on a user’s real feed
- Improving performance prediction with real data
- Supporting other creator categories beyond food
Our goal is to help creators grow—without needing more resources.
