Inspiration

Many SaaS brands offer free trials, but often receive no feedback from the trial customers.

What it does

Feedby allows to collect more feedback by unlocking features for feedback. With Feedby you can:

  • create Feature Gates to lock access to specific areas of SaaS product;
  • add different Feedback Types (like Text, Voice, Video) for each gate;
  • validate feedback quality in real time with AI Validation check or async for manual review;
  • provide different Rewards automatically (like add more trial days in Stripe);
  • analyze feedback collection performance and insights on scale.

How I built it

I built this product completely with Bolt (+ Supabase + OpenAI + Tavus).

Challenges we ran into

  • It was difficult to set up video interview with AI Avatar via Tavus inside the app - I used Daily.co directly.
  • I was not able to configure Voice feedback via Tavus since their audio-only mode is not working yet (released last week)
  • I ran out of the tokens and some features are not added or were broken during last updates (like video recording fetch from Amazon)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Built a pretty complex SaaS product with 0 coding skills
  • Leveraged Video AI for collecting feedback - it is working cool!

What we learned

  • AI Avatars are working - even if there are some minor glitches and bugs in quality.
  • I learned how to fix errors based on logs in Supabase edge functions!

What's next for Feedby

  • Robust feature gating for any external SaaS (using 3rd party feature gating platform)
  • Adding more feedback types (like screensharing, voice)
