The Problem

The college dining hall is a two sided problem. Students avoid going to the dining hall because they aren't satisfied with the food, and dining halls lose money because they don't know what students want.

The Solution

Feedback aims to improve the college dining experience for everyone involved. Feedback gives students the power to tell their university what they like and don't like about the dining hall. By surveying students on what they want, dining halls can make meaningful changes to improve their attendance and students can get excellent food. To incentivize students to take the surveys, there is a panther fund reward for giving feedback.

How we built it

We used HTML and CSS to build the front end, and Python to build the back end. We made sure the user interface was simple, clean, and intuitive, and made sure the data was precise and useful to universities.

Challenges

Adapting to technological issues was a key hurdle to overcome. We had issues connecting the front end to the back end, but managed to fix it with tweaking. We learned how to collaborate together and work on problems instead of working on it alone. We shared the work among everyone and solved our problems.

Accomplishments

We were able to completely finish and test the app in 24 hours regardless of the challenges we have encountered.

What's Next?

The main goal for Feedback is to help universities get accurate feedback about the quality of food that's being served and optimize the way our dining dollars are being used. Expanding the types of questions, interpretation of data, and number of dining locations are the main areas to expand, but the sky's the limit.
