Inspiration
DemonCrawl: a minesweeper-based RPG. We took the same idea and adapted the story to an experience of world hunger, food insecurity and humanitarian aid.
What it does
Feed the World (FTW) is a short puzzle game designed to educated children about the impact of food security on less fortunate populations in a way that challenges them and makes them want to know more about the subject.
How I built it
Game engine: Godot Language: GDscript (very similar to python but adapted to Godot) Started with coding basic minesweeper, then implemented it to FTW
Challenges I ran into
First time really coding a game, everything is quite messy. Some experience with python, but not much with Godot (or any game engine).
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
First time really coding a game :) Working as a team and division of labor.
What I learned
Gained much more experience with game engines and #gamedev. The importance of having a helpful team: support each other and work more efficiently.
