Inspiration

While we were going home after our daily computer lessons at a small organisation, we found a few rats that were involved in a biscuit feast. And then, it clicked. Make a game to help feed the rats!

Feed The Rat became that game.

What it does

It's a simple Scratch game that displays food of any kind and lets a user use his/her navigation buttons to play it.

How we built it

We built it using Scratch within a time frame of 3 days. We started with the background making, afterwards we made the code to ensure that after every round/level, it switches to a new one.

Challenges we ran into

1) Trying to make sure that there's a pop-up message that indicates a new level.

2) Ensuring that a new level does not display until all the food has been eaten by the rat.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of being able to attend our first hackathon and make something interesting and enjoyable for kids in just 3 days with lots of time and effort despite the fact that we had school.

What we learned

We learnt how to create a game, and make massive Scratch functions. Also, we improved in our Scratch programming.

What's next for Feed The Rat

Making it an online competition game between multiple users from various countries. Also, creating a congratulatory and error messages.
