What's next for Feed Ndjamena
An Initiative to Feed 1000 People Everyday For The Next 90 Days. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused humanitarian crisis around the world and Africa, Chad is no different, we‘ve seen a steady rise of cases around the city and Ndjamena as its epicenter. We all know that some of Chad‘s most successful people like and work in Ndjamena. We have all seen the large construction projects that are sprouting around the city. But because ofthis, Ndjamena is actually one of the most vulnerable and sensitive places for Coronavirus to spread. Ndjamena has a high population of expats and travelers; with inadequate screening at the airport, that means that these individuals are already spreading the virus around the community. And while many people in Ndjamena can afford some of the best health care in Chad, there‘s a large body of people who live and work here every day, and are being forgotten in this crisis. Constructor workers, day laborers, small shop owners and hawkers who work every day to build and develop Ikoyi are currently unable to supportthemselves, through no fault of their own. Therefore, it‘s up to us to come together, poolour resources and do what we can to support each other and make sure no one is leftstarving during this difficult period. We need to ensure that everyone at the top and thebottom of society can make it through this difficult period. Some people are already stepping up to the challenge. We‘re partnering with an existing network of informal cooks, butchers, and food sellers to create meals in bulk. When wemake a large order with a cook, we‘re not only supporting dozens of unfed individuals,we‘re also supporting the cooks and their families, suppliers and their families as well.Your contribution will help keep the local economy active until Ndjamena gets back to normal. The Feed Ndjamena initiative is about making sure that the forgotten workers of Chad, who arestruggling while the city waits to reopen, won‘t go hungry or die of starvation. We are asking everyone whoreceives this message to consider contributing to our fund.Initial Idea12. May 2020We already have a team of cooks who are willing, prepared to cook meals in bulk at very low price.
