Inspiration
College students are so busy that they often don't have time to eat proper meals, let alone keep track of what they are eating. This can cause several health problems (and it has for some of our team members!) that can be resolved by maintaining a good food journal. The problem with traditional food journals is that they can ask for daunting amount of information per entry. We want to provide a more quick and interactive experience!
What it does
Makes food journaling easy as pie and friendly with our patented Pudgy Panda technology.
How we built it
We spent hours planning the user experience. Because of this, we decided to design our app using a wire-framing platform online rather than immediately creating a full IOS app. This empowered us to quickly and easily try out new interaction methods and visual layouts.
Challenges we ran into
Setting up the "New Meal" form was rather difficult since the wire-framing application only has basic shapes and animation features. We made the most of our tools by mocking up some designs in photoshop, uploading them to our wire-frame demo, and adding final details within the wire-frame application.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully tackled the needs of our audience and created simple, quick entry methods.
What we learned
We learned the importance of laying out block diagrams and discussing projects on a much larger scale without worrying about the finer details too early.
What's next for Feed Me Food Journal
Feed Me Food Journal is meant to be an interactive and exciting experience. We plan on creating simple journaling methods and including IOT device voice commands, for devices such as Google Home and Amazon Alexa, that allow you to make new entries easily. An additional feature of the app will be to
