Inspiration
We wanted to create a multiplayer horror experience where survival is not guaranteed just because you stay alive. In Fear Man Online, players must work under pressure, explore dangerous spaces, and make difficult decisions when escape opportunities are limited.
What it does
Fear Man Online is a 5-player multiplayer horror survival game for Android.
Five players enter a deadly environment while an unstoppable AI monster, Fear Man, hunts them down. Players must search for keys, complete objectives, unlock escape routes, and avoid the monster long enough to survive.
The twist is that only three survivors can escape. Players must balance cooperation with competition, because staying alive is not enough—getting one of the limited escape spots is the real goal.
Key features
- Online multiplayer horror survival gameplay for up to five players
- A relentless AI monster that hunts players during each match
- Key-finding and escape-route objectives
- Limited escape slots: only three players can get out
- PvPvE gameplay that combines teamwork, tension, and competition
- Dark, atmospheric environments and high-pressure chases
How we built it
Fear Man Online was built with Unity and released for Android on Google Play. We focused on creating a tense multiplayer experience with clear objectives, unpredictable encounters, and a gameplay loop that rewards awareness, teamwork, and quick decision-making.
We designed the game around three core systems: multiplayer survival, AI-driven horror, and objective-based escape. Players need to explore, locate keys, unlock routes, and decide when to help others or make a run for the exit.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was making multiplayer gameplay feel tense and fair at the same time. We needed to create a monster that feels dangerous without making the game impossible, while also ensuring that the limited escape system creates exciting decisions instead of frustration.
We also worked on performance improvements and bug fixes so the game could run smoothly on Android devices.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have shipped a live multiplayer horror game on Google Play. Bringing together online multiplayer, AI-driven tension, exploration, and competitive escape mechanics into one experience was a major achievement for our team.
What we learned
This project taught us the importance of balancing game systems through playtesting. Small changes to monster behavior, objectives, escape timing, and player interactions can completely change the feeling of a multiplayer horror match.
What's next for Fear Man Online
We plan to continue improving performance, fixing issues, expanding the game with new content, and making the multiplayer experience even more intense and replayable.
