Inspiration

It's personal experience where I didn't get any food recall notification from the store and I got to know after few weeks via social media and some things which we bought in Dollar tree they don't have customer details.

What it does

Tool will register the customer with Severity preference via Pega Web chat bot which can be plugged in any 3rd party site via mashup. Tool will call the FDA Food Recall Public Rest API to get the food recall details on daily basis and notification via email will be sent to customers based on the Severity preference.

How we built it

Case Management to input the customer details and severity preference and Case will be invoked via Pega web chatbot. Agent activity will invoke the Public Rest API and send the notification details to the customer.

We are successful able to register the customer and fetch the Recall details from FDA Public Rest API and sent the notification.

What we learned

Pega Web chatbot integration with the case and consumption of the Public API's.

What's next for FDA Food Recall Notification Tool

AI powered analytics to predict based on historical data on type of products that has been recalled based on specific times of year, nature of disease outbreak’s happening etc. and send out alerts to customers accordingly.
