What it does

First product would be cricket cookies and after widen the variety to other pastries and baking powder.

How we built it

Branding insects as food through human connection. Branding visualized through showing cultures where insects are a part of everyday life and brave children who are open to try new things.

Challenges we ran into

How to break the stereotypes, How to receive wide acceptance to insects as food. How to launch a product to a specific market.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Recognizing the growth potential in target groups. Developing launch plan and marketing for the developed product. Creating future scenarios for the whole concept including yearly Fento Day -event.

What we learned

Implementing ideas and finding a target market for the product. Also planning the whole production process from product design to marketing and consumer experience.

What's next for the project

Fento day every year 23.10 (the day when insects became recognized as food in Finland). Events throughout the year. Indoor and outdoor promotion. Collaboration with other insect food producers.
