Inspiration
We knew that we wanted to analyze something related to mental health and when we found a dataset related to crimes in LA county, we thought it would be interesting to explore the relationship between income, serious crimes, and adult depression.
What it does
Compiles statistical analysis from various datasets to form a call to action and provides resources for those in need.
How we built it
We used R for data cleaning, analysis and visualization and React for the frontend-development of the website
Challenges we ran into
We dealt with a lot of merging issues as most of us were beginners in regard to GitHub. We also had trouble finding trustworthy datasets.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the website UI and that we were able to analyze data. All of us came in as complete beginners, so we are especially proud to have a completed project to present.
What we learned
We learned to effectively use R for data visualization as well as for data cleaning. We also became familiar with GitHub and its many different commands
What's next for Fault Lines
App Development, personalized accounts for user, consensual data collection to improve efforts, and chatbot.
