Inspiration
We were inspired to create a blog for U of A students focused on finding the perfect residence and discuss essential topics related to it. We wanted to create a resource where students could find information on all the different options and tips for making the most of their time living on campus. This blog can help make the process of finding a home away from home a little easier for U of A students.
What it does
Fasterin is a blog platform, interactive, transparent, and extremely easy to use.
How we built it
We built it using technologies such as Sanity, React.js, Next.js, Git, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Challenges we ran into
We had very different range of skillsets, but still, we managed to learn from each other and focus on work that best suited us.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the fact that only two of us knew how to use React
What we learned
We learned that not only technical individual skills matter in a team but know how the workflow in Git, as a team, works, so we can take be efficient in our work and collaboration. Also, there were certain topics and tools we obviously did not know how to use, however, being extremely focused in the hackathon allowed us to get used to them pretty quickly (e.g. Sanity)
What's next for fasterin
We are planning to substitute most functionality of Sanity with GraphQL in a future
