Inspiration
During the previous flood, I saw how uncoordinated aid distribution left many areas unsupported. I felt the lack of a system that could connect NGOs and guide donations efficiently.
What it does
Fast Aid is a web-based disaster relief management system that enables NGOs to collaborate efficiently during crisis situations. Through a shared platform, NGOs can visualize aid distribution in real time using an interactive heatmap, helping them identify under-served areas and avoid overlap in relief efforts. When a need arises, NGOs can submit supply requests for specific zones, which are reviewed and approved or rejected by an admin based on urgency, availability, and existing support. Additionally, NGOs can launch donation collection drives by announcing vehicle routes and pickup points on the platform. Citizens can view these live routes and contribute donations in real time as the collection vehicles pass through their locations. This system promotes coordinated action, resource optimization, and active community involvement during disaster relief operations.
How we built it
We built this prototype using Bolt AI Builder, which enabled us to rapidly design and deploy an intelligent, interactive web app without writing traditional backend code.
Challenges we ran into
We have encountered critical challenges in creating heatmaps using free tools.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have implemented a prototype that can solve real world problem.
What we learned
Production grade apps need so much efforts and need to think corner cases.
What's next for FastAid: A Collaborative Disaster Relief Management Platform
Next phase is to implement the full functionality and talk to the organizations, collab and lauch.
