Inspiration

People being hurt a lot in unexpected ways (source: me) - however, dealing with small medical problems with quick and intuitive help is not common at all and often inaccessible to most people. H-Zip aims to solve this with an easy-to-use application that offers on the spot medical advice.

What it does

H-Zip uses intuitive design and language accessible options to prompt the user to show the application what part of their body is experiencing an anomaly. After this, H-Zip uses built-in Neural Networks to quickly identify the appendage the user has displayed and shows the users some common medical problems they may be facing. The user can then select their respective problem and be given quick and intuitive preventative advice and quick treatment methods/recommendations on this matter.

How we built it

In the beginning of the day, I brainstormed potential problems before creating a detailed logical map of this application. After this, by using Artificial Intelligence within MIT App Inventor, I was able to build this app from scratch using this plan.

Challenges we ran into

Unfortunately, plans cannot account for total prevention of failure. I experienced some issues researching intuitive advice on this issue and compiling all together in a single app - however, this was solved with research on Stack Overflow (special shout-out here). I also had some minor syntax errors with my built-in Neural Net - however, this was mitigated with more model training and research.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Overall, I am proud to be able to create a meaningful application with potential to make a safer society.

What we learned

This application has taught me valuable lessons in the importance of research in project syntax and the major pros and minor cons of logical planning in the early stages of application building. I aim to continue to to use these strategies and skills in later iterations of this application and others.

What's next for H-Zip- Healthcare Track

In the future, more potential health advice cases, UI/UX design and supported language bases can be added to H-Zip - however, the current iteration has all it needs to help make a world healthier.
