While you likely recognize Usain Bolt or Simone Biles, you may not know Marit Bjørgen or Ireen Wüst, despite their 40+ collective medals. The Winter Olympics suffers from half the viewership of the Summer Olympics, with a 43% decline in the last four years. To plough through the status quo, Team 4 introduces "Fast and Flurrious": a new event where 16 teams navigate complex obstacle courses on custom snow vehicles, blending F1 speed with curling strategy.
Our prototype, McFlurry, uses a PID line-following algorithm and a claw-arm to navigate paths and relocate objects. Built from recycled parts, it features a lightweight design, powerful motors, and a single-cell battery to reduce emissions. These vehicles use ultrasound sensors to feed a sports commentary AI, sponsored by ElevenLabs and Snowflake, while our Solana-sponsored site, SnowBets, enables real-time fan predictions.
Our vision is to scale these designs for real competition and human use. Join us in adding Fast and Flurrious to the Olympic stage as we welcome you to the new ice age of Wintertainment.
