We wanted to make fashion easier. Picking outfits can be frustrating, so we built an AI that gives fast, stylish suggestions based on your input or what’s in your closet. Fashion Styler is an AI fashion assistant that generates outfit ideas in seconds. You describe your style or the occasion, and it returns a clean and structured list of clothing items with key attributes like color, fit, and pattern.
We used Flask with the OpenRouter API and custom prompt engineering to control the AI’s tone and format. The frontend, built with Vite and JavaScript, connects directly to the backend for live responses. It was hard to make the AI respond only to fashion topics and keep answers concise. We also struggled with frontend-backend communication and consistent formatting. We created a functional prototype with a reliable prompt system and simple UI that actually feels like a stylist, not just a chatbot. We learned how to fine-tune AI responses, integrate APIs efficiently, and coordinate backend logic with frontend design.
We plan to add closet uploads, trend tracking, and shopping integrations so users can get personalized outfit plans from their real wardrobes.
