**My mum supports smallholder farmers by giving them micro-loans, and they pay her in farm produce, most of these farmers don't invest money in their farms making payment very difficult. Also, 70% of farmers still pay cash for their input and mechanization making record-keeping difficult. I see problems as opportunities to make money when there are solutions to these to these problems.
**A registered farm on the platform will receive a smart card, whereas an input dealer or mechanization services provider will use our smart VPOS application to receive money paid by farmers in exchange for services or farm inputs. Extension agents on the other side will also have an app that will be used to onboard farmers, input dealers, & mechanization service providers, they will as well report on farmers' activities on the farm & other relevant data such as any possible disease infestation on the crop. The extension agent will be remunerated by the FarmWallet system. The government can leverage the Farmwallet system to make Farming easy.
**Our application onboards Extension Agent, Smallholder farmers, input dealers and Mechanization. Farmers are given a smart card whereas input dealers, mechanization service providers and extension agent are given a mobile app by connecting the farmers to the value chain players. Farmers can pay for mechanization service with their smart card by scanning QR code to pay for the service. Extension agent can visit a farmers and by weekly bases to update farmers farm records such as Harvest And Credit Offset Records,Major Risks And Incidents, Sales Records, Cropping Records.
**Cost of Operation is high, because most farmers are not tech savvy making onboarding expensive, also access to funding to support the project. We also need a fintech license since our platform is a blockchain base.
**The implementation of the wallet features (send-asset, view-balance etc.) has been completed and merged into the accounts-module, so admins can now easily fund or send assets to registered farmers, extension-agents, vendors etc. directly from the accounts-module in the dashboard.With the currently development, we have been able to bring onboard 7 extension-agents and have been able to onboard 9,250 farmers on our system so far, with an additional about 1,500 still been sorted by some of the vendors, before been onboard. And with the features completed and updates made, we can confidently say that our MVP is ready.
We have leant that farmers can use this same card to pay for transportation services. we have also leant that we can add insurance services for farmer to insure their crops against natural disaster.
