Executive Summary

Farmlife is a technology startup that will provide a web-app that will monitor the conditions in which farm workers operate every day. Our web-app will be on a tablet used by the crew leader to receive data on several parameters collected from a device added to the workers’ hat. When the crew leader turns on the app, he will first see the weather report, a map that will show the location of each worker, forecast of activities, a flashing signal in case of emergency and real time data of heat exposure.

The crew leader will benefit from it because they get real data wherever they are and the app will be easy to use. The workers will also be restricted from this since the device is added on a hat they already use. They can focus on their job and don’t have to write, speak or type into any device. The farm owner will also benefit from it because the operation in the plan will be more effective, the response time in case of emergency will be shorter thus decreasing employee illness. OSHA will also benefit from it because the saved data will be given to them during their visit and they also evaluate the operations of the plant. The web-app will be built using Java, front-end, back-end , map and map dispension and the device will be made of plastic .
