Inspiration

One of our team members was part of The Data Mine as a corporate student for John Deere. We wanted to make a game and decided to go for a farming simulator when saw John Deere was a sponsor at BoilerMake X.

What it does

A text based farming simulator with scaling and objectives.

How we built it

We used Java.

Challenges we ran into

Linking all the different group members ideas and code together was a bit of a challenge because of our slightly differing ideas. We managed to fuse all our ideas into a better project in the end.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Finding just the right sense of balancing for the different aspects of the game and clean UI was a difficult accomplishment.

What we learned

We learned that working with open ended prompts and concepts makes it difficult to have a cohesive idea with many group members. However, this also had the effect of improving our project with many different ideas coming together.

What's next for Farming Simulator

Implementing more real world variables that affect the farming process, such as temperature, pests, and obstacles in the fields.
