Inspiration
We were inspired by John Deere's "Best Agricultural Innovation" challenge
What it does
Our project Farmer's Marketplace is a program that attempts to help farmers obtain the necessary goods they need by enabling them to sell and purchase goods from other farmers.
How we built it
We built our program utilizing the Java programming language
Challenges we ran into
We needed to find a way to store various types of data in a simple way. The data needed to be saved so that we could use it later on when necessary. Additionally, we were trying to implement server-client communication, where there's one server while multiple clients (farmers, in this case).
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully made a simple but functional Graphical User Interface that the users can use to interact with our program. Additionally, we managed to find a way to store data.
What we learned
We learned a lot about Graphical User Interfaces, as well as how servers and clients interact with each other.
What's next for Farmer's Marketplace
We want to add additional features so that the users can do more, such as seeing their purchase history.
