Inspiration

During our field visits to rural areas, we noticed that many farmers struggled to access government subsidies and agricultural loans. Delays, confusing processes, and lack of awareness often left them at a disadvantage. This inspired us to create a digital platform that makes financial assistance transparent, accessible, and easy to manage.

What it does

Farmer-Friendly Agri-Loan & Subsidy Tracker helps farmers:

  • Track the status of loans and subsidies in real-time.
  • Receive personalized reminders for repayments and applications.
  • Access step-by-step guidance to maximize benefits from government schemes.
  • View all relevant financial information in a single, user-friendly mobile interface.

How we built it

Frontend:- React Native for cross-platform mobile development. Backend:-Node.js and Express.js to handle requests and process data. Database:-MongoDB to store farmer profiles, loans, and subsidy records. APIs:- Government and banking APIs for real-time updates. Cloud & Tools:-Hosted on AWS, with push notifications via Firebase, version control using GitHub, and UI/UX designed in Figma.

Challenges we ran into

  • Keeping data accurate and up-to-date due to frequent changes in government schemes.
  • Ensuring app usability in areas with poor internet connectivity, solved by implementing offline caching.
  • Encouraging adoption among farmers not familiar with digital tools, requiring extra education and awareness efforts.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully built a fully functional mobile app tested with real farmers.
  • Created a system that integrates multiple APIs for seamless real-time updates.
  • Developed an intuitive UI/UX that simplifies complex financial information for users with minimal tech experience.
