Inspiration
FarmBridge was inspired by the persistent challenges faced by farmers in developing regions. Many farmers lose 30–40% of their income to middlemen due to lack of direct market access, price transparency, and global reach.
The idea was to create a platform that enables fair trade, empowers farmers with data-driven insights, and connects them directly to buyers worldwide. The goal is simple: make farming more profitable, transparent, and sustainable.
What it does
Building FarmBridge helped me understand:
Real-world problems in agriculture and supply chains Designing scalable systems for rural accessibility Applying AI and data analytics to solve economic challenges Importance of user-centric design for non-technical users How technology can bridge global inequality
How we built it
FarmBridge is designed as a modular, scalable platform with 11 core features:
Global Crop Map Price Intelligence Buyer Network Digital Mandi Book Farm Calendar Transport & Logistics Finance Tracker Credibility Score Region Comparison Farmer Community Multilingual Support
The system uses AI-driven insights to help farmers make better decisions.
Basic value model:
Farmer Profit=Market Price−Middlemen Loss
By eliminating intermediaries:
New Profit=Market Price
Challenges we ran into
Designing for users with limited digital literacy Ensuring accessibility in multiple languages Structuring a platform that works in low-connectivity regions Balancing simplicity with powerful features Conceptualizing real-world logistics and trade systems
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a complete end-to-end platform with 11 integrated modules Successfully designed a system that eliminates 30–40% middlemen loss Created a farmer-friendly interface focused on accessibility and simplicity Implemented AI-driven insights for smarter decision-making Enabled global buyer–farmer connections within a single platform Developed using MeDo AI with vibe coding, achieving rapid prototyping and execution Addressed a real-world problem with a scalable and impactful solution
What we learned
Deep understanding of agricultural supply chain challenges Importance of user-centric design, especially for non-technical users How AI and data can drive economic empowerment Building modular systems for scalability and flexibility The value of clear problem-solving over complex features Leveraging AI tools like MeDo for faster and smarter development
