Inspiration
We have great admiration for the agriculture industry and we wanted to make a fun simulator game to pay our respects to the people who grow the food we eat.
What it does
Our game gives a view of fields that you have purchased, and lets you click each field many times to harvest and gain profit from your crops. You can go to the store and buy a variety of crops, as well as equipment to make harvesting require fewer clicks.
How we built it
We used xcode with the SwiftUI framework to build our iOS app.
Challenges we ran into
We all have very little experience with Swift, so we had to learn the language as we built our app. It was difficult to focus on high level concepts while we were spending so much time on syntax.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of building our first mobile app!
What we learned
We learned the basics of SwiftUI, and got some practice designing the view of a mobile app.
What's next for Farm Simulator Clicker
We would love to make the background of the opening screen green. Other things, cleaning up the code and making the harvesting mechanism a timer rather than a clicker, or some other way of making the app more interactive.
