Inspiration
I’ve had the idea for Farm Rumble for a very long time, but RevenueCat’s Shipaton competition gave me the push to finally start building it. It was the perfect opportunity to turn an idea I kept thinking about into a game people could play.
What it does
Farm Rumble is a fun, casual PvP football game set in a colorful environment. Matches last up to three minutes: the first team to score three goals wins, or the team in the lead when time runs out. The action is driven by physics. You can push the ball to dribble, headbutt it, or roll yourself to fire a powerful shot, cover ground, or knock opponents over. Positioning and timing matter, while collisions, rebounds, and tumbling characters keep matches unpredictable.
Power-ups add another twist during the game. Super Roll gives you a faster, stronger roll, Time Dilation slows everyone else while you keep moving at normal speed, and Goal Jinx shrinks your own goal while making the opponent’s goal wider.
Players can jump into ranked online matches, create or join lobbies, or practice with bots in single-player mode.
In-app purchases
Farm Rumble offers optional in-app purchases through Gold, its in-game currency. Players can buy packs of Gold and spend it in the shop to unlock custom character models.
Purchases focus solely on visual personalization. Characters share the same gameplay abilities, keeping the gameplay centered on skills, luck and fun.

How I built it
I built Farm Rumble using Unity for game development, Blender for creating 3D assets, and Codex as the main agentic coder.
Challenges I ran into
The biggest challenge was time. The competition’s timeframe meant making careful decisions about scope and balancing art, gameplay, and polish. I had to prioritize the core experience and save some ideas for future updates.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I’m especially proud of the art style and how the overall game came together. Giving Farm Rumble its own visual personality while turning a long-standing idea into something playable has been the most rewarding part of the project.
What we learned
I was reminded the value of keeping the scope focused and iterating quickly. Working toward a deadline helped me prioritize what mattered most to the experience and recognize when to refine a feature versus move on.
What's next for Farm Rumble
I plan to add more character models and customization options, introduce new maps, and continue improving the gameplay. I’m excited to build on this foundation and use player feedback to help shape the game’s next steps.
