Inspiration

As we observed in different Villages including our Village, Farmers always struggle to get workers , Some farm owners would make public announcements when they needed workers to work on their land. And this wasn't necessarily easy. These farm owners would also go house to house to recruit laborers to work on their land. We have also noticed workers standing out in crowds in city centers to get some work on daily basis.

Farm owners find it hard to get enough workers, and there are workers who just can't reach a farm owner that needs their specific skills.

This motivated us to build Farm Hands application for both work seekers and providers(farmers)

What it does

Farm hands is an application that can put farm owners and field workers in touch with each other. This would benefit both the farmer and the worker thereby increasing productivity and improving the lives of the workers and farmers.

It will also provide Farmers with many other services with different packages and tie up farmers with third-party vendors for their cultivation needs.

How we built it

The Application comes up with web portal for CSR . CSR have the ability to Onboard workers and Reserve workers. There are two case types:

• Onboard workers -> To register workers into the application.

• Reserve workers -> To reserve workers / packages as per farmer needs

• Workers can call/reach out to the CSR. Provide the details and then gets registered into the application .

• Worker has to provide all his personal details.

• Worker has to select the skiils / A new skill can be entered if its not present in the drop down , From the next time it will be added into list.

• Proof details will be collected.

• Once they have been successfully registered the worker will be notified via SMS with the member ID.

Reserve workers Case: Reservation case

• Members or non-members can request workers.If a member, All his details will be auto-populated for confirmation.If not a member details have to be entered and there is an option to onboard the non-member

• Appropriate details of work and skills have to be entered to find the available workers

Challenges we ran into

• We started to build the application completely with idea to be build in App studio.

• But eventually we got shift to Dev studio to change few rules like Data transforms , Activities, validations, Sections and few other

• Designing UX and doing UI was always fun as we got to explore other areas apart from our regular expertise.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• We spent so much time brain storming different ideas and decided to implement the one that we have now.

• Apart from tight deadlines everyone were going through , We managed to build the app to get this phase.

• We maximum tried using App studio , we got to explore some new features introduced into App studio like Run data transform, Validation rules , Savable datapages and few other

What we learned

We as a team got better exposure on how to delegate various individual tasks that would be combined to form the whole project. The collaboration was great and communication was the key in bringing together all the various elements of our project.
