What I built

Farm Data Assistant is an AI Skill for UGREEN AI NAS that turns a smallholder farmer's own stored livestock data into one plain-language daily briefing: fence exits, unusual inactivity, missed therapy sessions, and the day's photos, each finding cited with its source file. It is a Markdown orchestration workflow under the Uliya Skill Development Standard: it delegates each step to a registered expert — file-agent locates the day's collar exports and documents, document-agent extracts GPS, activity and therapy figures, photo-agent finds the day's photos, knowledge-agent compiles the briefing and saves it only after the farmer confirms. Only catalogued NAS CLI capabilities are used; no custom scripts run. The NAS local AI model does extraction and summarization through those capabilities, and all processing stays on the NAS — no farm data leaves the home. Inputs: farm folder, date, and the farmer's threshold document. Built so far: the Skill definition, full workflow, capability mapping, and validation plan. Not yet done: installing the Skill and running it against real collar exports and photos on a UGREEN AI NAS — that is the Finalist validation step.

What I learned

Building under the Uliya Standard taught me that a useful AI Skill is mostly careful orchestration: delegating each step to the right expert, passing only verified results forward, and designing for missing data — when a day has no exports, the Skill must say so and invent nothing. I also learned how the UGOS capability catalog shapes design: every action must map to a catalogued CLI capability, which keeps the Skill honest about what it can and cannot do.

What's next

If selected as a Finalist: install the Skill on the assigned UGREEN AI NAS and run the validation plan — core test 1: one full day of collar exports, treatment log and photos, where the briefing must list every fence exit, inactive animal and missed therapy; core test 2: the same folder with changed thresholds, where alerts must follow; edge case: a day with no exports, where the Skill must say so and invent nothing. Then record the under-3-minute demo video on the NAS for Round 2.
