To buy a public transportation fare, such as a bus or train pass, you must either pay in cash, go to a station, or have an Opus en ligne fare charger (device you need to order). This causes customers to lose time and make the whole experience uninviting for users to adopt public transit. Some decide to not use public transit because of these barriers. Our company will save the clients time, as well as improve their service and attract customers by creating a platform for an online payment using a credit card. This app will be an all in one, including a trip planner, access to buy individual fares and also serve to charge your transit card. This fare will appear in your Apple wallet and Google Pay, allowing you to scan your phone instead of the physical transit card. This app will be accessible to users here in Montreal as well as other major regions such as Ottawa and Toronto. This project will be done in partnership with public transportation systems such as the OC Transpo, the ARTM and the TTC. Overall this product will increase accessibility to public transport as well as improve the customer satisfaction. This will directly increase the number of users on public transit lines and as well have possible secondary positive effects.
