Inspiration
The inspiration behind Fantom Grant stems from a deep passion for fostering innovation and supporting developers. Witnessing the transformative power of quadratic funding, we aim to empower creators, fuel their ideas, and drive exponential growth within the Fantom blockchain ecosystem.
What it does
"Fantom Grant, powered by quadratic funding, revolutionizes funding on the Fantom blockchain. It ensures fair and efficient allocation of resources while enhancing security through a robust taxation method. By customizing tax rates, increment tax rates, and tax rate caps, Fantom Grant prevents Sybil attacks, fosters inclusivity, and maintains a balanced funding ecosystem. Experience secure and impactful funding, empowering developers and driving innovation on the Fantom blockchain.
In addition to quadratic funding and the taxation method, Fantom Grant introduces NFT whitelisting. This feature allows event creators to specify a specific NFT contract address, restricting proposal submissions to users who possess that particular NFT. By leveraging NFT whitelisting, Fantom Grant enhances project quality, fosters collaboration, and ensures that only eligible participants contribute to the ecosystem. Empower creativity and drive impactful projects with Fantom Grant's NFT whitelisting feature."
Taxation Method
To ensure fair funding distribution and discourage Sybil attacks, Fantom Grants implements a taxation method that allows event creators to set specific parameters. This method includes three variables: tax rate, increment tax rate, and tax rate capped. Here's how they work:
Tax Rate: The tax rate is the starting tax rate assigned to each project submitted. It represents the initial percentage of a contributor's donation that will be taxed. For example, if the tax rate is set to 1%, a contributor's donation of 100 tokens will be taxed 1 tokens.
Increment Tax Rate: The increment tax rate determines the rate at which the tax rate increases for each donations to a project. This variable encourages more diverse participation and helps prevent concentration of funds in the hands of a few contributors. For instance, if the increment tax rate is set at 1%, the tax rate will increase by 1% for each new donation.
Tax Rate Capped: The tax rate capped sets a limit to the increment tax rate. Once the tax rate reaches the capped value, it will no longer increase, even if more unique contributors join. This ensures that the tax rate does not become excessively high and maintains a balanced taxation system.
The taxed tokens collected from contributors are added to the public pool fund. This fund is then distributed to projects using quadratic funding, which ensures a fair allocation based on the principles of community support and participation.
By customizing the tax rate, increment tax rate, and tax rate capped parameters, event creators can fine-tune the taxation system to suit the specific needs and dynamics of their projects. This approach encourages genuine contributions, discourages Sybil attacks, and fosters a more inclusive and equitable funding ecosystem within Fantom Grants
How Fantom Grants utilize NFT.
The use case of NFTs in the Fantom Grant project is to enhance security and ensure eligibility for participants. By implementing NFT whitelisting, the event creator can specify a particular NFT contract address, allowing only users who possess that specific NFT to submit proposals.
This feature adds an additional layer of verification and trust to the platform. It ensures that only individuals who hold the designated NFT can contribute and participate in the funding process. By restricting proposal submissions to NFT holders, Fantom Grant promotes a more secure and exclusive environment, reducing the risk of fraudulent or unauthorized activities.
In summary, the use of NFTs in Fantom Grant serves as a mechanism to verify and authenticate the eligibility of participants, fostering a more secure and trustworthy funding ecosystem for all contributors and creators involved.
How we built it
By harnessing the power of the Fantom blockchain and leveraging various web3 tools, I have developed an innovative web application that operates on the principles of Web 3. This application utilizes the capabilities of Fantom blockchain to provide users with a seamless and decentralized experience.
